Form: The past perfect is had+. past participle Compare present perfect & past perfect: Present Perfect: My wallet isn't here. I've left in behind. The man looks familiar. I've seen him somewhere before. Past Perfect: My wallet wasn't there. I'd left it behind. The man looked familiar. I'd seen him somewhere before.
